many people think that every thing in America is perfect,a country have affectation to all over the world.before i came to the US,my sister told me that it should make me disappointed because my imagination. therefor i did not think to much.on another hand,so many Vietnamese American who immigrated in here.they go back to my country and make up every thing so we have evidences to believe our imagination. after i came here,America is so unbelievable,it is so duty and out of control.they don't sell guns but many people have guns.in my country,downtown is cleanest place but in here downtown is most duty in the city.homelesses are everywhere.many food trucks,they sell food everywhere along the streets.it is really like my country.i never thought i could see that again in America. on another hand,education in USA i am very pleased.

In the Human Geograghy, it describe the downtown which has different part. We are living in a poor part of downtown. That why you can see that it is so dirty. But this event does not mean US is not prosperous. If you choose the human geography in the academic class, you can find the answer of your misunderstanding.
I am really surprised that America has these scenes. Before I came here, I also thought America was as beautiful, fashionable as heaven. We may get disappointed. We have to admit that everywhere in the world has poor people and old buldings. Even though, USA is the strongest country, it still has many problems which is similar to China.
oh i experienced same as u.when i stayed downtown for few days,i heard the sound of a gun.i thought it was sound of like fire works something,but after few minute,many police car and even a helocopter came over that place.i got shock and really scary.after that,i couldn't go out after 6pm.hehe but not anymore :)
